Weapons require Destruction stones while armor items require Guardian or Harmony Leapstones. When an Item upgrader Kit is upgraded, the materials are changed in their names. For example, Stone Fragments becomes Stones and Harmony Shards becomes Life Shards.

Upgrades to items are essential for improving a character's performance however it is crucial to take into consideration the cost of doing so prior to making any upgrades. This will ensure that you have a strong roster at the time you reach your goal of upgrading to level 9.

The rerolling process is very similar to the level-up system. You can use reroll tokens to eliminate any Level Up option from your item and exchange it for another. However unlike Level Up, reroll tokens don't reset the item's level. This means that when you reroll an upgraded item, it will not be at the same level and will not receive the bonus.

Players can also use a special mechanic, Eliminate, to remove any Level Up option they have on their equipment or weapons. This is beneficial when you've lost a gacha or need to reroll an item with five stars. You'll need to create an account from scratch or sign up using social media.

In every town, you can also visit an Occultist to alter the attributes or stats of a weapon or armor. This is useful if you have a five-star epic unit you'd like to make better or an elite four-star player you're struggling with.

Rerolling tokens can be obtained by completing specific quests. These can be purchased from the Occultist for 300 gold, or you can find them in the holozon containers that are dropped after completing certain dungeons. You can roll any armor, weapon or ring by moving the icon on the page of your unit with the lock to the desired slot.

Sets

A set is a collection of things which have some commonality. You use sets every day like a dozen eggs or a set of friends. They are useful because they allow you to organize things, and operations like union, intersection and distinction help you to manage them effectively. Sets are used in many different ways, from organizing music on a playlist, to assigning students grades.

In Nioh the game uses Sets to give special effects when players wear pieces from a particular armor set. These bonuses, referred to Set Bonuses, are similar and sometimes even better than Effects. While it isn't explained why the armor sets have to be worn together in order to generate these additional effects, they are a nice option to play with different effects when playing the game. The armor sets that have Set Bonuses can be found in numerous locations around Hyrule including the Dark Moon Temple and Twilight Temple.

Each piece of equipment included in the Set has a number of Set Bonuses that are associated with it. You can determine the ones you are looking for by hovering over the item and then looking at the tooltip at the bottom. The Set Bonuses will appear in the form of a red box.

Certain Set Bonuses are only available to a specific piece equipment. If you equip the entire Phantom Armor set, you will receive +8 defense (instead of the +3 defense that you receive with the majority of gear). Other sets are only available through certain quests or purchasing them through the Auction House.

Set bonuses

Set bonuses are special effects which can be found on an item set, and provide a bonus to the player in combat. They offer a specific percentage of a particular statistic, like weapon damage or defenses or resistances. However, they cannot stack; only one can be active at any one time.
